Government push for outdoor hospitality measures to remain in place
As a result of the pandemic and the government’s regular review of social distancing restrictions, ministers are currently consulting on plans to allow extra outdoor seating, shelters, marquees and pub parasols to become permanent on-site fixtures, as well as allowing street markets to remain open all year round.
The consultation from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government is examining these changes to encourage customers to continue to dine outdoors to reduce the spread of Covid-19, so the people can “continue to enjoy outdoor hospitality and local attractions, and businesses can innovate.”
